    Roadtown, Tortola - The BVI International Finance Centre (IFC) has launched its new and improved website www.bviifc.gov.vg, in a continuing effort to promote the Territory as a top echelon finance centre.

     

    Chief Operating Officer Ms. Sherri Ortiz described the launch as “an extension of the IFC’s marketing strategy which allows us to maximize targets and to stimulate and entice all audiences on BVI’s product offerings.

     

    As stated on the website, “the BVI has demonstrated leadership in meeting the needs of international business and also has a proud tradition of achieving balance and transparency in regulation; and in many cases exceeding international best practice standards.”

     

    Ms. Ortiz stated that the website showcases “the main elements of the financial services industry and serves as a tool for providing timely industry updates and relevant details of the BVI’s presence at globally sponsored events. Detailed information which demonstrates the success of our well-regulated sectors, such as trust and estate planning, funds and investment, insurance, banking and shipping registry can also be found on the website.”

     

    Additionally, the website provides a search engine optimization tool, which places at your finger tips; relevant information and contact details of all registered agents within the Territory.

     

    Among the information provided on the website are introductions to the BVI Government and International Finance Centre and useful links to other related units of the BVI Government, the Financial Services Commission and industry related partners.

     

    Ms. Ortiz revealed that “in an effort to encourage new and continued visitors, the IFC hopes to include local, regional and international news as it relates to international finance.” She further stated that “future enhancements would include the ability to stream audio media news and a visitor feedback section to encourage dialogue as it relates to the financial services industry.”

     

    Ms. Ortiz expressed deep appreciation to all industry partners, who provided content, reviewed drafts, and shared comments that helped to enable the launch of the new and improved website. 

     

    As the Government agency responsible for promoting and marketing the Territory, the BVI International Finance Centre is committed to ensuring that the Territory maintains its competitive edge as a leading financial centre.
