BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – LESS than 24 hours after Sheldon Newton was hospitalised following a shooting incident in Nevis, another young man is nursing bullet wounds at the JNF Hospital in St. Kitts.

Reports reaching this publication states that shortly after 2:00 p.m. today (May 26), 20-year-old Jason Morton of Hermitage Village, Cayon was shot while in the National Bank’s automated teller machine (ATM) kiosk in the vicinity of TDC Home and Building Depot on the Frigate Bay Road.

SKNVibes understands that Morton and a number of men were travelling in a vehicle along the Frigate Bay Road and the driver had stopped for him to withdraw some money from the ATM.

However, while in the kiosk, a lone masked gunman approached and fired a number of shots hitting him in the region of his buttocks and one of his legs.

It was also understood that on seeing the gunman approaching, those who were in the vehicle disembarked and ran to safety.

A unit from the Emergency Medical Services quickly arrived at the scene and rushed Morton to the hospital, where he underwent surgery and is warded.

This media house was informed that Morton was recently released from police custody. He was reportedly assisting the officers in their investigations into an incident in which Deshawn ‘Struggle’ Williams of Ottley’s Village was shot on Friday (May 15) while seated among friends under what is known as The Big Tree in the vicinity of the basketball court.

And on Nevis, Sheldon Newton was reportedly shot last night at approximately 7:45 by one or two men who ambushed him while he was leaving his Stoney Grove home to go on an errand.

So far, no one was apprehended in relation to the two shooting incidents and police are requesting the public’s assistance in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
