BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – NEWTOWN and Sandy Point continue their brilliant form in the Nagico Windsor University Keeth Athurton T20 Tournament with wins in the second weekend of action.

With players from the Haynes Smith Cricket Club engaged in another competition, only two games were played last weekend - both on Sunday ( May 24).

In the first game, Sandy Point took on Molineaux/Cayon in which the former won the toss and captain Shane Jeffers elected to bat.

The bowlers of Molineaux/Cayon did well with the ball to restrict the Sandy Point’s batsmen from scoring, but they were not well supported by their fielders who misfielded and gifted a number of boundaries to Sandy Point.

Sandy Point innings was led by Jahmar Hamilton who stroked 41 to lead his team to 129 from their allotted 20 overs.

The pick of the bowlers for the Molineaux/Cayon team were Norval McCall who captured two wickets for 24 runs and Jacques Taylor who collected two for 25.

In response, Molineaux/Cayon got off to a fast start with opener Lester Morrishaw who scored 12 off the first over to give the team some early momentum. However, when he fell for 20, his side collapsed to a mere 91-9 off their 20 overs to give Sandy Point their second win.

In the second game, Newtown also got their second win after defeating Young Guns by 36 runs.

Young Guns won the toss and asked Newtown to take first strike.

Newtown made 167 for 5 off their 20 overs on the back of half centuries from Steve Liburd and Jeremiah Louis, who finished with 56 and 58 respectively.

For Young Guns, Hayden Walsh Jr, captured two wickets for 32 runs.

In response, Young Guns only managed to muster 131 runs.

Welton Edwards was the main contributor with 46 runs and he was supported by Walsh who made 29.

Glenstone Patrick got three wickets for 13 runs for Newtown.
