Infamus, Bunji Garlin, Duane Stephenson rock White Sands Luau
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - IT was an immaculate scenery Sunday afternoon (Jun. 28) as patrons adorned the shores of the Carambola Beach Club with fully-white ensemble.
The fourth annual White Sands Luau promised to be the best yet; but the show came off to an extremely late start.
However, in an effort to compensate for the tardy start, the host involved had patrons in a game of trivia, which would reward them with tickets for the upcoming CPL games and dinner for two at various restaurants including Carambola Beach Club during Restaurant Week.
The show managed to start around 6:00 p.m. that evening with the Swimsuit Competition in which five contestants vied for the title of Ambassador for the Carambola Beach Club.
Eusha Johnson was adjudged winner of the competition.
When asked how she felt about winning, an elated Johnson responded: “I have a passion for modelling, I feel ecstatic about winning and I am glad to be the Ambassador for Carambola. I was encouraged by those around me to do the show and, funny enough, I won!”
Following the competition, artistes including local prodigy Infamus performed singles such as ‘Crying’, ‘Love comes knocking on my door’ and ‘Mr. Officer’.
Other acts included Jamaican Duane Stephenson, who performed hits such as ‘Cottage in Negril’, ‘August Town’ and ‘Fool for you’.
Special guest artiste Bunji Garlin out of Trinidad rocked the stage with Soca hits that included ‘Trinidad Soca’, ‘Raze’ and crowd favorite ‘Truck on de road’.
The event was extremely well attended and served as the perfect “cool down” to an exciting weekend of festivities.
