PM Harris: St. Kitts and Nevis CBI Programme Remains Ready and Open For Business

St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris addresses the International Citizenship and Global Residence Conference in UK
By: Office of the Press Secretary, Press Release

Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris was warmly received (yesterday) in London by a diverse audience of property developers, tax advisers, lawyers, asset managers, residential planners and Citizenship-by-Investment (CBI) service providers at an International Citizenship and Global Residence Conference.

Prime Minister Harris assured participants that it was imperative the St. Kitts and Nevis CBI program be recalibrated and reformed in order to enhance the offering and preserve its integrity. He said, “we are now better prepared administratively and legally to deliver a better quality programme. I want all of you to know that the St. Kitts and Nevis programme remains ready and open for business.” He further stated that his administration regrets the delays that the important review has caused, but affirmed that the exercise was “absolutely necessary”.

The Prime Minister shared his new Team Unity Administration’s view that it is more important to be right and transparent, than to be fast. “Now we are working to do both”, he said.

A number of St. Kitts and Nevis based developers (in the important tourism industry) such as Kittitian Hill, Christophe Harbour and Pelican Bay Resort, took part in the conference and expressed satisfaction with the PM's reassuring remarks.

PM Harris was accompanied by his Attorney General, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, the Hon. Vincent Byron and the London-based High Commissioner, H.E. Dr. Kevin M. Isaac.
