YEP Executives
By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WITH the motive of encouraging and supporting young people in becoming professionals through creative arts, a group of local professionals will be launching an organisation called YEP and a book on the poetic works of Sanjay Caines.

Launching of the organisation ‘Youth Entrepreneurs and Professionals’ (YEP) and Caines’ poetry works, ‘Life's Questions’, will be held under the theme “All things work together to fulfill our destiny” at the Marriott Resort from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 8).

Caines, who is the president of YEP, told SKNVibes that the organisation is recognised by a government agency and has been certified some eight months ago.

“YEP has been duly recognised and certified by the Department of Community Development on December 11, 2014 and has been active in making donations to the Reading Room located in Mansion and the J.N. France General Hospital, among others.”

He also told this media house what the main focus of the organisation is.

“Our vision is to encourage and support youth entrepreneurship and professionalism with focus on creative arts publishing, skills, product and professional development.”

Speaking to the double launch, Caines explained that the theme is a phrase extracted from one of the poems he penned called “All Things”.

He also explained that the book is already available internationally on Amazon US, UK and Canada, “but an updated version is expected to become available just before the local launch”.

The poet further explained that the book features a poem called ‘Come to my homeland’, which he posited “seeks to encourage visitors to our shores”.

Prior to the 12 noon-2:00 p.m. double launch, participants of the book launch, guests and sponsors will be invited to breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., while a business card exchange session will be had from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

Additionally, there will be an Authors and Publishers Seminar following the launch and Caines advised that all those who would like to attend and purchase one of the limited editions of his book, they should indicate their interest by contacting 668-8071 or 766-1880 no later than Wednesday (Aug. 5).

This, he said, is due to the fact that the launching ceremony would only have room for 50 persons and only 50 editions of the poetry book would be available for sale at the launch for EC$50 each.

“Participants and guests are also asked to capitalise on the opportunity to promote their interests by walking with adequate business cards for the business card exchange session,” he added.

The double launch ceremony will be hosted by YEP’s Vice President, teacher, writer and law intern Empress Stanley, while presentations will be made by Attorney-at-Law H.M. Stephen Claxton, Angela Woodley (teacher), Maia Hadi, Jonelle Irish and Winston ‘Zack’ Nisbett.
