Shekhina Dance Theatre holds successful second production

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – THE Nevis Cultural Centre overflowed with patrons last Friday night (Apr. 3) as the Shekhina Dance Theatre held its first anniversary production under the theme “God’s not Dead; Rejoice! He’s Alive”.
Under the guidance of instructors Diana Pemberton and Tamicia Lestrade, 79 students ministered to an appreciative audience which included Deputy Premier Hensley Daniel and Opposition Leader Vance Amory. The students, divided into age groups called the Sun, the Moon and the Stars, ministered via solo, duet and group performances.
President of Shekhinah Dance Tamicia Lestrade told SKNVibes that she was overwhelmed by the turnout and also by the students’ performance.
“Tonight was awesome. I give God all the glory and all the praise.”

Lestrade said the group’s first production in July last year had an attendance of close to 600 persons.
“We realised that with other activities scheduled on the island for the night, the turnout would not have been the same but the chairs were filled. People were sitting on each other; people were standing, so it was a good turnout and the students did a great job.”
The production was just one of a series of activities planned for the group’s anniversary which will be observed on Sunday, April 12. Also scheduled are a bake sale on April 11 and a church service on April 19. Members of the group also planned a mini Easter concert for the Flamboyant Home and a show on Choice FM radio to explain what they are all about.
Friday’s production was chaired by the group’s Financial Advisors Ron and Tresia Daniel.
