Children’s Dance Theatre Celebrating 20 Years In International Dance Month
Usually in the month of April, dance is celebrated worldwide. Locally, the highly revered Children's Dance Theatre (CDT) has chosen this month to celebrate its twentieth year of existence, a milestone remarkable for any arts endeavor.
CDT was founded in 1989. Twenty years later, it remains committed to nurturing young talent, choreographers and leaders. Presently, this sixty-two member group is a vital component of the Federation’s arts and cultural community, with far reaching national acclaim.
Ms Julie Martin who serves as Director of the Theatre has revealed that an extraordinary dance recital is slated for April 26th to celebrate this unparalleled achievement. She has guaranteed an explosion of exhilarating dances designed to educate and entertain its ever broadening audiences.
The dance theatre is currently taking advantage of the Easter vacation for intense rehearsals under the watchful eyes of the seven (7) member staff ; Director - Julie Martin, Heidi Slack, Sonji Isaac, Fatisha Imo, Shanikwa Laws, Genieve Hanley, Allyson Wilkinson.
