By: Amanda Payne, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THIRTEEN employees of the TDC Group of Companies were awarded yesterday (Aug. 13) for successfully completing a Certified Customer Service Professional Programme.

The week-long programme was facilitated by Dr. Ben Henry, Managing Director Customer Service Academy Jamaica.

At the Award Ceremony, which was held at the TDC Training Centre in Basseterre, Dr. Henry gave an overview of the programme.

He noted that the 13 employees have now joined 1100 others across 140 countries as professionals and urged them to be ambassadors for peace and make TDC stand out in the community.

Two of TDC’s employees, Yvette Duncan, a cashier at the Business Centre, and Dominic Matthew, Marketing Assistant at the Client Relations and Marketing Department, spoke briefly about their experience on the course and both agreed that they are now better equipped to provide exceptional customer service.

The newly-proclaimed Certified Customer Service Professionals were presented certificates by the Chairman of TDC Group of Companies, Earle Kelly, who told them, “This is a badge of honor, so I will be more demanding on you. Be committed to total customer satisfaction and deliver exemplary service.”

Human Resource Manager Dennis Knight informed that the company has over 500 employees and wished for all of them to become certified over time.

Speaking with Dr. Henry following the proceedings, he told this publication that the goal of the programme is to outline the best practices in customer service and to raise the standards in an effort to reform customer experience and satisfaction.

Participants on the programme were drawn from various departments in St. Kitts and Nevis, including FINCO.

SKNVibes also spoke with Whyome Wiliams, a FINCO employee, who was asked to comment on the training programme.

“It was intense because it was done over one week, but it was exciting and rewarding and, best of all, we are now certified. Thanks to TDC for allowing us to become certified so that we can advance ourselves and the company.”
