One wounded in Market Street shooting

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are investigating a shooting incident which occurred last night (Sept. 6) in Upper Market Street that has left one man suffering injury or injuries.

     

    Speaking this morning with SKNVibes, Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David confirmed that the incident did occur and the shooting victim is one Kamal George of Market Street.

    David could not say if the wound was life-threatening or to the part of George’s body where he had sustained injury or injuries.

    He however indicated that upon receiving reports of the incident, police immediately responded and George was transported to the JNF Hospital and police are currently investigating.

    The PRO also indicated that, based on preliminary investigations, a press release would soon be disseminated with additional details.

    Information reaching this publication stated that the incident occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m. and, according to unconfirmed reports, it may have been a drive-by shooting or the perpetrator was transported by a vehicle to commit the crime.
