St. Kitts-Nevis Association of Houston (SKNAH) Scholarship Awards

    September 21st, 2015 -- The St. Kitts-Nevis Association of Houston (SKNAH) is proud to announce and congratulate the recipients of the 2015 St. Kitts-Nevis Association of Houston Independence Scholarship Awards.  

     

    US $1,500 Mr. Josh Kelly
    Stapleton Village, St. Peters
    Pursuing a MSc. in Financial & Business Economics
    University of the West Indies – Cavehill, Barbados

    US $1,000 Ms. Danika Knight
    College Housing Site, Basseterre
    Pursuing a BSc. in the Medical Sciences – Microbiology & Immunology 
    Dalhousie University – Halifax, Canada

    US $500 Ms. Querida Dolphin
    Lodge Project, St. Mary
    Pursuing a BSc. in Elementary Education – Language Arts emphasis
    University of the Southern Caribbean – St. Joseph, Trinidad

    The winners of the 4th annual SKNAH Independence Scholarship were honored at the association’s annual Independence Gala held on September 19th 2015 at the Hilton Post Oak hotel in Houston, TX. The keynote address entitled ‘Blessings on the way home’ was given by Kittitian surgeon, Dr. Spencer E Amory - Chief of General Surgery at the Columbia University Medical Center. DJ Choice ONE MD and Masquerades provided entertainment and the Gala was hosted by Mr. Clement ‘Monarch’ Ogarro.  

    We take this opportunity to thank our scholarship reviewers, who have no affiliation with St. Kitts-Nevis but gave of their time to ensure a fair and efficient judging process. We extend gratitude to the members, friends and supporters of SKNAH whose generous donations make our annual scholarship possible.     The St. Kitts-Nevis Association of Houston (SKNAH) was formally established in 2008 by two first generation Kittitian-Americans seeking to become more connected with their Kittitian Heritage. Since then, the young association has blossomed into a registered 501(c)3 non-profit aimed at the support, enrichment and social welfare of Kittitians and Nevisians in the Federation and the Greater Houston, TX area.
