Alliance Francaise presents Khaled Kouhen

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Alliance Francaise will be presenting Khaled Kouhen live in concert at the Frigate Bay Resort from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, April 24.

According to Rita Schneider, Director of Alliance Francaise, Kouhen is a musician from Morocco who plays all sorts of percussions and has become one of the greatest European tabla players these past few years.

He will be performing alongside the Muze Band out of Nevis. 

Schneider said Kouhen would also be featured in a workshop to be held earlier that same day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Basseterre High School Auditorium, where he will teach interested students the techniques of playing different types of percussions and other instruments of their interest.

She said the concert serves as one of their monthly highlight events where they try to feature something or someone different, new and exciting.
 
“Next month will feature a kids’ theatre with clowns and fun stuff,” she said.

On another note, Schneider added that the Alliance would be casting interested models for French designer Giulliano Cubano who is interested in print modelling and doing French fashion shows.

She said interested models could contact her at the Alliance and that they have to be between the ages of 18 to 30.
