St.Kitts-Nevis 32nd Independence Anniversary Service in NYC 2015

    September 29th, 2015 -- Hundreds of Nationals and Well-wishers in the Diaspora turned out to the Kittitian American Benevolent Association (KABA) service commemorating 32 years of Independence of the Federation of St.Kitts-Nevis. The service was held at the Crawford Memorial United Methodist Church in the Bronx, New York on Sunday, September 27th, 2015. 

     

    The dignitaries for this auspicious occasion included The Prime Minister of the Federation of St.Kitts-Nevis, Dr. The Right Honorable Timothy Harris, His Excellency, Sam Condor, Ambassador to the United Nations. Also present was Mrs. Edrice Lewis-Viechweg, the designer of the St.Kitts-Nevis flag. 
     
    The Pastor of the Church, Rev Harrold W. Morris Sr. brought greeting from the church membership, while the message on the theme, “Challenges and Changes” was done by Rev. Veronica Williams-Gumbs, herself a native of St.Kitts.
     
    In his address to the nationals, His Excellency, Sam Condor implored the audience to help build a better St.Kitts-Nevis. “United to build a stronger Nation” is theme for the 32nd Independence celebrations. 
     
    The welcome remarks was done by Margaret Robinson one of the executive of the KABA Organization. 
     
    At the reception held after the service, the Honorable Prime Minister gave apologies for his delay, as he was on duty at the United Nations attending to CARICOM business. He then gave a brief talk to the audience about his government quest to build a better and fairer St.Kitts & Nevis. He encouraged the audience to take pride in their country and help build a better country for future generations.
     
    The entertainment went well into the night with music by the Caribbean Eagles Steel Orchestra.
