BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have issued a release on yesterday’s (Oct. 25) shooting incident which resulted in the death of one man and the hospitalisation of another.

In the release, it is stated that the incident occurred between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. in Johnson Street, Tabernacle, but it was only reported to the police sometime after 11:00 p.m. after a passerby heard one of the victims crying out for help.

According to police reports, Trevor ‘Abdul’ Edmeade of Parray’s Housing Project was shot multiple times and died at the scene, while Aidain ‘Mumpa’ Henry of Johnson Street, Tabernacle was also shot multiple times and is currently undergoing treatment.

Henry is said to be in critical condition.

“Investigations revealed that both victims were at the premises of Mr. Henry when they were accosted by two masked gunmen, who fired a number of shots. The assailants fled the scene,” the release said.

It also said that the scene was processed by the Forensic Department and investigations are being conducted by the Violent Crimes Unit.

Once again, Ian Queeley, the Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Crime, is appealing to the public to assist the police with their investigations.

“If you have seen something, if you have heard something as it relates to this or any violent crime, or any criminal activity, tell someone. He also indicated that “we can’t do this alone”.
