By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WHILE members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force were successful in arresting and charging three men for allegedly being in possession of an illegal firearm and a quantity of ammunition yesterday (Oct. 27), two armed bandits carried out a brazen daylight robbery at the Daily Food Supermarket in Buckley’s Site.

Reports coming out of the Police Force’s Public Relations Office state that inquiries revealed that two armed, masked men had entered the supermarket and one of them had assaulted the cashier by pointing a firearm at her and demanded money.

The cashier complied with the demand, handed over an undisclosed sum of money to the bandit and both men made good their escape.

According to the police, the scene was processed by a member of the Forensic Services Unit and video footage of the robbery was collected, which would be analysed to assist sleuths in their investigation.

The police are appealing to anyone with information about this incident or any other criminal activity to contact the Basseterre Police Station at 465-2241, the nearest police station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS).
