    CFBC Dancers
This Saturday, October 8 at 4:30 p.m. the CFBC Dance Ensemble will be hosting a MASTER DANCE CLASS for all dancers on St.Kiits and Nevis, imparting the knowledge gained at a two-week summer training exercise at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York.

Enlightening&..Inspirational&.Educational&...Awesome! These were  some of the terms used by the 11 members of the CFBC Dance Ensemble to describe their successful stint there after spending five months raising the funds to finance their trip.

The Joan Weill Centre for Dance in Manhattan was the venue where these talented young ladies spent countless hours improving their skills in various dance styles including The Martha Graham technique, The Katherine Dunham technique, Jazz, Modern, Afro-Caribbean, West African and Broadway Theatre Dance.

While on this culturally enriching trip, the dancers were also guests of honor at a party in New Jersey, hosted  Dr. and Mrs. Trevor Simmonds, a reception in Brooklyn at the residence of Dr. Valerie Durrah and a rehearsal with the Ailey II Company Dancers. They experienced a performance by the world famous Ballanchine Ballett at Central Park, witnessed a dance production by New Dance Group, a company which like the CFBC Dance Ensemble, conceptualizes and choreographs all of the dances and saw members of the Alvin Ailey Summer School shine in their Summer Sizzler 2005 presentation. They had an artistic exchange with Creative Outlet, of Brooklyn and attended a panel discussion on The Inspiration for Choreography that was chaired by a who's-who cast of top American professional Broadway, Ballet and Modern Dance Choreographers.  Another highlight included their appearance and interview on BET's 106 & Park where they were seen by millions of viewers waving the colours of the National Flag.

With seven new members on board, The CFBC Dance Ensemble is now fired up to use their new techniques to improve and enhance the quality of dance within the Ensemble and throughout the local dance community. The Dance Ensemble wishes to once again thank Honourable Richard Skerritt, Honourable Dwyer Astaphan, Cable & Wireless, National Bank, Beaumont Park, Royal Bank of Canada, ProTec, All Dive & Marine Services, Racing & Gaming Services, Brisbane & Associates Krystal's Night Club, St. Kitts Urban Development Corporation and Mrs. Jean Thomas of Hands That Care Massage Center. Gratitude is also extended to supporters of their fund raisers, the Ministry of Finance and The St. Kitts Tourism Authority  New York, particularly Patrice Henry, St. Clair Chiverton and Denise Zimmer.
