BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ONCE again members of the Special Services Unit and the Anti-Narcotics Unit of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force have come in for high praise as they made another significant drug bust in the Federation.

Information reaching this publication states that the two units had conducted a joint operation last night (Nov. 22) at the RLB International Airport and a Buckley’s Site residence on suspicion of an individual being in possession of controlled drugs, firearms and ammunition.

SKNVibes learned that the officers had a female ‘mule’ under surveillance who flew into St. Kitts on a LIAT flight from St. Lucia and was met at the airport by a certain male from Trafalgar Village.

The duo then headed to Buckley’s Site, where the brother of a former Commissioner of Police resides and allegedly handed over the suitcase to him.

Armed with a warrant, the officers executed a search of the premises and found a quantity of whitish substance concealed in a false compartment of the suitcase that the female allegedly brought into the country.

The whitish substance was later tested and positively proved to be cocaine with a street value of over EC$100,000.

The two men and the woman were arrested and taken into custody along with the cocaine.

Over the past 10-plus months, the Special Services Unit and the Anti-Narcotics Unit had seized some 830 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of EC$11.265M, and 8.5 pounds of cocaine with an estimated street value of EC$347,490.

However, the latter does not include last night’s seizure.
