BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (November 23rd, 2015) – FLOW to increase Internet networkcapacity tenfold. Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager at FLOW Kevin Edwards disclosed that the company plans to upgrade its off-island data links servicing both St. Kitts & Nevis in an effort to meet increasing demand for bandwidth. This is all part of its current Super-Fast Broadband network rollout.
Mr. Edwards stated that FLOW currently has two main data links which facilitate off-island data traffic. The upgrades that are scheduled to be implemented on Dec 5th 2015 will result in a tenfold increase in the capacity of both links, which would redound to an exponential improvement in the experience of FLOW’s Internet customers.
“During the period of this 6 hour maintenance window, from 12am to 6am on Dec 5th, customers on both islands will experience some interruption in their Broadband service. However, once completed, the upgrade to these data links will result in a dramatic improvement in the level of service to our Internet customers”, stated Mr. David Lake, General Manager of FLOW St. Kitts & Nevis.
Mr. Lake continued, “At FLOW we are constantly aware of the need to improve the quality of service we provide to keep pace with ever increasing consumer demand. Not long ago we invested heavily in our 4G network infrastructure to provide 100% 4G coverage throughout the Federation. More recently we launched our first of its kind Customer Experience Centre geared specifically to providing an exciting customer immersion and interactive experience. We have now directed our efforts to improving our Broadband service to all of our customers on both islands”.
“In summary, this Broadband network capacity increase would enable FLOW customers to upgrade from 2 megs to 6 megs for just $5 more, from 8 megs to 48 megs for just $10 more, or select from a range of upgrade options including 9 meg, 12 meg and 24 meg plans”, Mr. Lake concluded.
