Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 01, 2015 (SKNIS) — Arriving at Le Bourget Conference Centre at approximately 10:15 hrs on a cold Paris morning, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, joined 150 World Leaders including Caribbean Prime Ministers attending the twenty-first session of the Conference of the Parties (COP21). One minute silence was observed at the start in homage to the victims of the terrorists attack in Paris.
Prime Minister Harris addressed the Leaders Event for Heads of State and Government which was organized at the invitation of French President François Hollande. Before getting into the thrust of his remarks on COP21 call to action, PM Harris offered condolences on behalf of his Government and all the people of St Kitts and Nevis to the families and friends that were traumatized by the attacks that mercilessly claimed about 130 innocent lives in Paris.
St Kitts and Nevis stands in solidarity with the Government and people of France against terrorism", said Prime Minister Harris. And "in spite of the darkness, horror and insanity of terrorist acts", he went on, "I hope that Paris will continue to be a city of light, love, spontaneity, optimism and hope, and that through global action the world can be a safer and better place".
