Press Release

December 3rd, 2015 -- Adults and young people in the Federation have an opportunity to be introduced to archery on Saturday, December 5, 2015 by a reknown coach from Barbados, Colvin “Tony” Chin who arrived on Nevis on Tuesday.

The clinic will run from 9.00 a.m to 1 p.m.

According to  Pam Barry, the founder of  the Archery Association of Nevis, and the coordinator of the training event, Chin will be teaching advanced and beginner students the sport of Archery.  She said young persons between 12 to 18 years are welcome.

Tony has participated in various regional archery tournaments  for over 15 years and has won many medals. He is a certified coach and has travelled extensively around the world coaching teams of archers in Trinidad.

“We will provide free bottles of water but suggest each person should try to bring a snack. If you had fun using a catapult or made your own bow and arrows when you were young then you would really enjoy the sport of Archery. Our club is only 2 years old. Come and see how its done. Don't miss this opportunity”

Ms Barry gave further details about the archery training: “If you are in Charlestown stop in at the Fire Hall  and ask for Catherine. She can give you a flyer and instructions on how to get to our Archery Field that is on the road to VON radio. Look after the preschool on the right hand side and when you come to the Prince of Peace Tabernacle Church, turn right and our club house is a red container next to the ocean. Please leave your name and telephone number to register. See you there.”
