Health Clinics Sign Agreement With National Health Insurance

    BVI, 4 December 2015 - Representatives of three local health clinics in the network of on-island providers have signed the Participating Provider Agreement within the National Health Insurance System.

     

    Mr. Alred Frett of B&F Medical Complex Ltd., Dr. K.P. Anderson of Dr. K. P. Anderson Ltd. and Mrs. Monique Donovan-Neita of Premier Dental signed the agreement with Director of the Social Security Board, Mrs. Antoinette Skelton, on December 2.

    Mrs. Skelton stated that she is pleased that the private healthcare providers in the Territory are ensuring that their clients receive the full benefits of the services provided under the National Health Insurance (NHI) Programme.

    An agreement was also signed with JIPA Network out of Florida, USA, on October 1, aimed at providing NHI clients with access to high quality healthcare service providers and facilities overseas.

    The NHI system took effect with the Declaration of the Social Security (Amendment) Act, 2014 on December 1. The contract signing is among a series of measures undertaken by Government in providing access to quality health care to all residents.

    The National Health Insurance takes effect January 1, 2016.
