133 Visa-Free Countries Boost Attractiveness of St. Kitts and Nevis CBI Programme

Cover article on St. Kitts and Nevis featured in October in "Belong" magazine

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 08, 2015 (SKNIS):  The continued economic growth in St. Kitts and Nevis, which is ahead of projections for many Latin American and Caribbean countries, and the conducive atmosphere for doing business in the twin-island federation were spotlighted on WTOP FM – in Washington D.C., in the United States.

Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, recently highlighted the information while attending the launch of the magazine “Belong” which promotes the Citizenship by Investment Programmes of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica and Grenada. While in D.C., Dr. Harris was interviewed for WTOP FM, the top ranked radio station of 2014 - as cited by Arbitron - and shared critical information about the federation’s CBI Programme, noting that any investment in St. Kitts and Nevis is worthwhile.

“The holder of a St. Kitts-Nevis passport can travel to some 133 countries without the need for a visa,” he said, adding that countries in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean are among those on the list. “Plus, St. Kitts and Nevis is a growing country. … Over the last three years, St. Kitts and Nevis stands out around the world as being one of the highest performers with a six percent economic growth” – according to an average of 2013 and 2014 statistics by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

“This year, 2015, among Latin American and Caribbean countries, St. Kitts and Nevis is envisaged to have a five percent growth rate that is about double what is expected for the United States of America. It is five times what is projected by the IMF for Latin America and the Caribbean,” he said.

Prime Minister Harris said these factors coupled with the country’s natural beauty, strong democratic principles and progressive economic policies make the country an attractive “alternative avenue” for those wishing to invest.

He reiterated that “St. Kitts and Nevis is open for legitimate business” and added that his government has been working diligently to strengthen the CBI Programme and correct reputational negatives which are typically associated with such.

“It’s not just about the economic citizenship programme,” Dr. Harris stated. “It’s about lifestyle opportunities, it’s about coming to a destination in which you can make friends easily and have an enduring relationship with people in a small island who are confident of their destiny and the need for prosperity in a democratic society.”

“So, I extend an invitation to you and all your listeners to come see what St. Kitts and Nevis is about and if you like it, come back, invest in a house, in a property,” he told the interviewer. “Be part of the way of life of St. Kitts and Nevis. You won’t regret it.”
