Police Press Release: SKN officers amongst graduates of 2015 RSS Leaders Course

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, December, 11, 2015 (RSCNPF) -- Four (4) officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force were amongst a class of 25 officers who graduated from the Section Leaders Course facilitated by Regional Security Systems (RSS) Training Institute’s on Thursday (December 10).

     

    According to Superintendent Glen Paul of the RSS Headquarters, the six (6) week Leadership Course began on November 2nd 2015 with participants from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and St. Kitts and Nevis.

    The course he said, comprised of classroom, outdoor and field exercises.  Superintendent Paul noted, that the lectures and practical applications were focused on the development of the future leaders within various the Police Services.  He said, the training was designed to tap into the leadership potential of the Officers, to give them the necessary tools to be effective leaders within their organizations and to be effective first line supervisors. 
     
    Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian Queeley said, "this type of RSS training is essential for the future of our various Police Services, the opportunity for our up and coming personnel to attend these courses greatly benefits St. Kitts and Nevis, as we continue to build capacity within our Police Service."  ACP Queeley added,  "recognizing the challenges as we continue efforts to reduce crime and improve the quality of Policing we can only do so by empowering our Officers through training. This he said, (Training) is one of the pillars of the "Six Point Plan". 
     
    Also in attendance was The Hon Dr. Timothy Harris, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and Minister responsible for National Security, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian Queeley, Executive Director of RSS Mr. Grantly Watson, Commander of St. Kitts and Nevis Defense Force, Senior Officers of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force and the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
