NAGICO Unveils 2016 Calendars in which 5 local art students from St. Kitts and Nevis are featured

By: NAGICO, Press Release

December 22, 2015NAGICO Insurances launched their 2016 calendar under the theme 'My Heritage, My Culture', which is a compilation of winning artwork submitted by students from across the Caribbean, five (5) of whom are from St. Kitts.

"We always try to feature something local in our calendars to market our island, especially since  our calendars are circulated throughout the Caribbean in the 19 territories in which we operate and beyond," Sunita Sookram Branch Manager of NAGICO Insurances St. Kitts-Nevis explained, "But this 2016 edition is very special to us and we are extremely proud of it because of the effort, hard work and pride placed into it by the students who participated." The concept of the calendar pays homage to the heritage and culture of the islands in which NAGICO Insurances operates.

"We launched an art competition in February this year, within schools in our 19 territories, challenging students to paint or draw in their own interpretation, what 'My Heritage, My Culture' means to them," Sookram explained. "The feedback was tremendous and the pieces were simply amazing, making the final selection very hard. However, in the end 12 students and their pieces were chosen and are now featured in our wall and desk calendars, along with a picture of the winner and mention of their school."

"We want to congratulate the winners on their accomplishments and hope that they will continue to hone their talents as they grow and strive for higher heights," Dwayne Elgin; CEO of Nagico Insurances said. "NAGICO remains committed to our promise of always being there as social partners in our communities as we do our part in helping to strengthen the frame work of our islands by creating opportunities for our young people to achieve their goals."
