Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 28, 2015 (RSCNPF) -- Commissioner (Ag) of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Stafford Liburd has expressed appreciation to the revelers and bands for their efforts in a safe J'Ouvert 2015.
Commissioner Liburd said, that reports from the Basseterre Police Station indicated that the J'Ouvert activities were as energetic as in previous years and the crowd was massive. "Our Basseterre Police Station Officers said "the crowd was massive and with that size crowd and thankfully only one or two fist fights, the J'Ouvert festivities can be summed up from a security standpoint as relatively safe," said Commissioner Liburd.
"I want to thank all the revelers for coming out and having fun, thanks to the bands for ensuring a safe event by adhering to the instructions from the marshals. I also want to thank the officers who were on duty, both from the Police and the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force, your vigilance contributed significantly as a deterrent to any anti-social behavior that would have detracted from the J'Ouvert revelry. Revelers were able to truly enjoy themselves," added Commissioner Liburd.
Commissioner Liburd also encouraged revelers to display this same attitude on Parade Day January 01 and "Last Lap" on January 02.
