29th Academic Excellence Recognition Awards Ceremony held Thursday December 03, 2015

    December 30th, 2015 -- Eighty-one students from St. Kitts and Nevis were awarded Certificates of Recognition for their outstanding performance in the 2015 overseas examinations at the 29th Academic Excellence Recognition Awards Ceremony held on Thursday December 03, 2015. 

     

    The unique, exclusive, Cable and Wireless St. Kitts and Nevis Ltd sponsored event was held at the St. Kitts Marriott Beach Resort under the theme “Forging a new beginning… Commitment to Excellence”. This event forms part of an academic excellence project coordinated by the St. Kitts and Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Ministry of Education.  FLOW (Cable and Wireless) achieves its objectives, which are (a) to promote the principles of excellence among high school students and (b) to promote higher standards of teaching, by means of hosting this annual spectacular event.   
     
    Among the students honoured were the Federation’s State Scholar, Mr. Christian Bryden; the runner-up State Scholars, Mr. Tyler Martin and Mr. Jamalje Bassue, and the student with the best results in the CSEC examinations, Ms. Tassaney Steinbergen. There were also awardees from the varying divisions of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College, and teacher awardees from nine secondary schools within the Federation, in appreciation of their invaluable contribution towards the educational development of the students. 
     
    The guest speaker for the 29th Academic Excellence Recognition Awards ceremony was Ms. Natalie John, CEO, Dreamy Wedding and Tours Inc. /Dreamy Décor. 
     
    Governor General, His Excellency Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Hon. Shawn Richards; Premier of Nevis and Minister of Education in the Nevis Island Administration, Hon Vance Amory and other Ministry of Education officials, representatives of the St. Kitts- Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce and representatives of FLOW were in attendance marking this event with distinction.
