BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – INVESTIGATIONS by this publication have revealed that Wade ‘Grammy’ Phipps, the man who was killed execution style last night (Jan. 29) in Ottley’s Village, was not residing in Mansion Village but Christ Church.

Investigations also revealed that Phipps was reportedly engaged in a game of dominoes in the vicinity of the basketball court in Ottley’s Village under a large tree where a tent was erected.

The tent, SKNVibes learnt, was the venue that a female uses every Friday to ply her trade of a variety of cooked food.

However, at approximately 7:45 p.m. during the game of dominoes, Phipps observed a number of men, who he reportedly knew, approaching his direction and he got up and began running in the direction of the basketball court.

But he was cut-off by another man while heading in that direction and shot multiple times. Approximately nine bullets were fired with one striking him in the center of his back and four to his head.

This publication also learnt that Phipps originated from Lower Cayon but had taken up residence in Christ Church and not Mansion Village as stated in an earlier article.

His death has taken the number of homicides committed in the Federation for this year to four.

The first was that of ex-Defence Force member Vancito Dore of Cayon who was killed on Thursday (Jan. 14). According to a police statement, the incident occurred at about 8:30 a.m. and initial investigations revealed that he was shot in the Upper Cayon area “by two masked assailants who alighted from a motor vehicle”.

The second victim was 24-year-old Hassan Evans of Pond’s Extension, who was shot multiple times on Upper Thibou Avenue at about 1:15 p.m. and shortly after succumbed to his injuries at the Joseph N France General Hospital on Sunday (Jan. 24).

And 25-year-old Lanzelle O’Loughlin of Molineaux Village was killed execution style shortly before 7:00 a.m. in the vicinity of Junie’s Shop in Mansion Village.
