Cement truck overturns in South East Peninsula

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A cement truck overturned while plying the South East Peninsula route earlier this afternoon (Feb. 8).

     

    It is understood that the accident involved a concrete truck – P8552 – owned by CONTEC and was being driven by Danny Wilkinson reportedly of Nevis.

    Information received by this publication stated that the vehicle was heading into the South East Peninsula area and the driver lost control while on Timothy Hill.

    The Fire and Rescue Services Department was summoned to the scene for extrication purposes but their service wase not used as the driver was able to exit the vehicle with relative ease.

    He was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital via a private vehicle.

    Police are making investigations into the incident.

    Meanwhile, members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Traffic Department are making investigations into a two-vehicle accident that took place near OJ’s Gas Station late this afternoon.
