February 18th, 2016 -- A packed Warner Park Football Stadium was on hand to witness Verchilds High School been crowned Under 16 Football Champions on Wednesday 17th, February. The school also known as the Bright Star in the West defeated a strong Washington Archibald High School 4-3 on penalties. Both teams created numerous opportunities but the custodians from came up big for their school. At halftime and end of regulation the score was 0-0.
The penalty scorers were:
VHS- Rogernique Hendricks, Miriko Craunston, Philson Wattley and Nejohn Browne
WAHS-Rohan Powell, Joshua Warde and Malik Roberts.
Cayon High defeated BHS for 3rd place.
Joshua Woods lone goal in the 62nd minute was enough to seal a 1nil victory for Cayon High School over Basseterre High in the 3rd and 4th Place playoff of the Department of Sports National Bank U16 males Football.
