BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THERE are those who give their all in performing their duties and don’t necessarily expect reward. However, such reward came recently for Juliette Fenton of Kajola Kristada who found out last week that she had been named the company’s Employee of the Month (EoM) for January 2016.
Fenton of Cayon, has been an employee of Kajola for the past 16 years and since the Employee of the Month programme was instituted some seven years ago, she has never been bestowed the title…until now.
Fenton is described by her Line Leader - Julianna Griffin – as a dedicated and dependable worker who is such an all-rounder that “no job is too hard for her to complete”.
“You can depend on her anytime, any day and she gets the job done. Not all of the employees are like her and they should take pattern from her work ethic, which would redound to the benefit of the company as a whole…”
An excited Fenton, while expressing her feelings about the experience of learning of her achievement, recalls her colleagues suggesting to her that she might be the winner of the award.
“When they started going around with the celebration to inform of the Employee of the Month winner, the girls on the line told me they are coming to me and I told them they are not coming to me. They passed me and came back down the line and my heart jumped as I realized it was me. I just began to cry because I didn’t expect it to be me. I think my work is good enough but I really didn’t expect it to be me. I feel good because I know I am doing a good job.”
Directing comment to her fellow workers, Fenton said each of them has the potential to be named Employee of the Month.
“They can do it but they have to put their mind to it and change their mentality. Some of them feel like they are supposed to do one thing. But it is good to be versatile so that they can fit in wherever they are needed.”
Offering words of commendation to Fenton, Griffin expressed, “I would like to congratulate Juliette on behalf of SMT, Tunable and Moko sections for doing a job well done…”
Congratulations Juliette!
