Public servant to particpate in job attachment programme

    Roadtown, Tortola - Mr. Anthony McMaster, Finance and Planning Officer in the Ministry of Health and Social Development will participate in the Territory’s first job attachment programme in June.

     

    The job attachment programme, a partnership between the Government of the Virgin Islands (UK) and Meade Malone & Co., Certified Public Accountants will allow Mr. McMaster to remain in the Territory while completing the required three-year practical, a prerequisite for completion of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant Programme.
     
    Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Social Development Mrs. Ritzia Turnbull-Smith speaking at the brief ceremony conveyed her heartfelt congratulations to Mr. McMaster who she believes is a worthy recipient of this opportunity.
     
    Director of Human Resources Mr. David Archer thanked the company’s Managing Partner, Mr. Meade Malone, for facilitating such a momentous programme and Senior Assistant Human Resources Manager, Ms. Gail Wheatley for her “tireless efforts in making this process become a reality.”
     
    Mr. Malone expressed his contentment in being a part of such a “pioneering” partnership and assured Mr. McMaster that his three-year stay with Meade Malone & Co. would be an “enriching experience”.

     

    Mr. McMaster expressed his sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Archer for facilitating this attachment and Mr. Malone for agreeing to mentor him in the upcoming years.
     
    The signing of the job attachment agreement was witnessed by Mr. Everton Knight, Manager of Meade Malone & Co. and Ms. Gail Wheatley of the Department of Human Resources. 

    The partnership is a component of the Department of Human Resources work plan where building partnerships with the private sector is an objective.
