Cabinet of Government of National Unity

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 02, 2016 (SKNIS): The formal meeting of the Cabinet took place on Monday, February 29, 2016. The meeting was chaired by the Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris.

     

    1.      Cabinet commended the Christian Council and the Evangelical Association for collaborating with the Government in organizing the National Season of Prayer, Fasting and Repentance from February 7-March 19, 2016. Cabinet took note of the Lenten Midday Service of March 02 at the Co-Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception where the members of Cabinet were designated to take part. 
     
    2.      Cabinet received an update with respect to the National Heroes Park and will have further consultation with the National Heroes Park Committee. 
     
    3.      Cabinet discussed the security climate in the Federation and commended the Police High Command for the maintenance of law and order and for excellent results achieved thus far in the stemming of crime. The Cabinet also commended the general public for its continued collaboration with the Police.
     
    4.      Cabinet discussed a number of capital projects and an approach for dealing with these going forward.
     
    5.      Cabinet was advised of a delegation to make an imminent visit to Dubai to promote the St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship-by-Investment (CBI) programme.
     
    6.      Cabinet discussed some programmes for the socio-economic empowerment of at risk youths and adults. 
     
    7.      The Cabinet extended condolences to the Honourable Mark Brantley, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Aviation, on the passing of his mother Cynthia “Vicky” Williams.
