17-year-old Cayon resident gone missing

MISSING TEEN: Tyrique Duncan
By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE mother and family members are currently searching in the Wash Ghaut area in Lower Cayon for 17-year-old Tyrique Duncan who has reportedly gone missing since Sunday (Mar. 6).

Speaking with SKNVibes, the mother said that Duncan resides with his maternal grandmother in Spooner’s Project. She stated that after preparing meals for the day, the grandmother left for work at about 6:00 a.m. while Duncan was still in bed.

The mother further stated that his grandmother called her that morning to inform the teen that “the food in the oven belonged to him”. She then passed the information to him at 10:16 a.m. via WhatsApp and he had responded at 12:50 p.m.

On her return from work later that afternoon, the grandmother found that Duncan was not at home and she had left the residence at 4:00 p.m. to visit her mother.

However, on her return home shortly before 9:00 p.m., he was not seen and she tried contacting him on his cell phone but got no response.

“My mother called me and said she had not seen Tyrique and that she cannot make contact with him on his phone. I then tried calling him on his cell phone and found that it was turned off,” the mother said.

She pointed out that she went to bed but, as a concerned parent, got up sometime after three o’clock the following morning and called her mother to find out if he had returned home.

“I then made numerous calls to him but all of them went straight to voice mail,” the mother said.

The mother said later that morning she went to the Cayon Police Station and also to the Basseterre Police Station to enquire if “the police had him locked up” but that was not so.

After making enquiries of his whereabouts and searches within areas where he was known to hangout, all of which proved futile, she lodged a missing report at the Cayon Police Station.

She indicated to this media house that her son was last seen wearing a gray vest, a pair of short jeans and a pair of black and white Nike sandals.

He is five feet 11 inches tall and fair in complexion, and the mother is appealing to anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts to immediately contact her at 760-0818 or the nearest police station.
