March 29th, 2016 -- As the leading Port Agent on St Kitts-Nevis, Delisle Walwyn & Co. Ltd. continues to partner with the Cruise Lines to facilitate donations to those in need in the Federation.
For the year already, the donations have included 180 chairs, tables; books and product display shelving; 70 mattresses; clothes & shoes; recreational items; and a microwave. The donated items which are used but in good condition are channeled through various charity organizations in the Federation as well as through the appropriate Government Ministries such as the Ministry of Education and in particular the Ministry of Social & Community Development. This year, The Craft House also benefited from the donations.
Mickey Weintraub, a councilor with one of the recipient charities, ATime4Us Foundation, stated that, “These mattresses will make a significant difference in the lives of those in need. There are many people, including children, in St. Kitts who only have piles of old clothes or palm leaves between them and the floor. These mattresses will provide a little comfort to people whose lives are anything but comfortable.”
The management and staff of Delisle Walwyn & Co. Ltd. take this opportunity to thank the cruise lines for the donated items as well as the many volunteers and staff of the Charity Organizations across St Kitts and Nevis who work tirelessly to ensure that citizens and residents are afforded assistance and support in their time of need.
