National Bank Sponsors Athletes of 2016 Champions, St. Thomas’ Primary School, Nevis

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (March 31, 2016) – The St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Limited recently sponsored the St. Thomas’ Primary School to facilitate the purchase of track suits for the school’s athletes.  On March 30 the school was 1 of 8 which participated in the highly anticipated annual Gulf Insurance Inter Primary School Track & Field Meet, held at Elquemedo Willett Park, Nevis.  

     

    The Bank’s team, St. Thomas’ Primary emerged the Champions, much to the delight of the folks at National Bank. St. Thomas’ amassed a total 182 points which was 23 points higher than the second place team. The keenly contested event was streamed live via the internet and broadcast live on radio and television as is customary.  The partnership between the Bank and the School has spanned over 10 years.

     

    Mrs. Shirna Pemberton and Ms. Sabina Vaughan were on hand to meet with athletes and staff before the Meet.  Ms. Vaughan offered these encouraging words, “We at National are confident of your ability to excel.  Play fair, have fun, but play to win” said Ms. Vaughan.

    Principal, Ms. Norlene Smithen and Coach Mr. Emmanuel Richards both thanked the Bank for outfitting the athletes as well as for the Bank’s consistent support of the school over the years. “The last set of uniforms we had were quite worn, so we are really grateful for this new set!”, said Coach Richards.   He assured the ladies of a win and he delivered.   
     
    National  has demonstrated a commitment to the holistic development of the youth of the Federation and is pleased to have made such a positive impact in the lives of these young athletes and to the school as a whole.
