Tourism Officials Commemorate Inaugural Call

    Four Cruise Ships Bring More Than 9000 Visitors to St. Kitts

     

    BASSETERRE (4th April, 2016): Two cruise ships visited St. Kitts for the first time today bringing more than 4,000 visitors to the island.
     
    Coming to St. Kitts was the Aida Diva of the Aida Cruises, with cruise ship passenger capacity of 1,627, and the Mein Schiff 3 of TUI Cruises with cruise ship passenger capacity of 2,500.
     
    Also visiting St. Kitts today was the Anthem of the Seas with a capacity of 4,905, and the Seven Seas Mariner with a capacity of 760 passengers.
     
    Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Carlene Henry-Morton, led a delegation of tourism stakeholders onboard the Mein Schiff 3 to present a plaque to the captain to commemorate the inaugural visit of the ship.

    “This is indeed a very significant event and occasion for us. We are privileged to have been added to your itinerary and we are looking forward to many more calls in the next few month and indeed for the years to come,” Mrs. Henry-Morton said. “The Federation is proud to have your prestigious vessel anchored in our waters, and we are delighted you have chosen to follow your heart to our beautiful St. Kitts”.
     
    Captain of the Mein Schiff 3, Dimitris Papatsatsis, said he was extremely happy to visit the destination.
     
    “It is a very nice feeling to finally be here in St. Kitts and I am looking forward to continuing this great partnership,” Captain Papatsatsis said.
     
    This year St. Kitts will break the one million mark of cruise passengers visiting in a cruise season. Today four ships in total visited the destination bringing more than 9,000 passengers.
