BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – INVESTIGATORS of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, including members of the Special Victims Unit, are currently investigation an alleged rape and attempted murder incident that occurred in Phillip’s Village.

Following complaints by a concerned resident of that village, who claimed that there was “little to no response from the police in the area” since the incident occurred on Monday (Apr. 4), SKNVibes contacted a Senior Officer and was told that the incident is currently being investigated and that “no stone will be left unturned”.

The concerned citizen claimed that the suspected rapist walks with a firearm and residents of Phillip’s Village are fearful for their children’s lives.

“The people in the area are very concerned. Some even fear for their kids life since the rapist is now walking around with his gun in his hip from since the talk has been out that he was the one to brutalize the young woman.”

The concerned citizen also pleaded with this media house for assistance.

“Can you please help by getting the police or politicians to respond...we are not all monsters in Phillip’s Village.”

The Senior Officer stated: “Like all criminal matters under investigation, especially serious crimes, the police will not publicly disclose the findings until a thorough investigation is done and the perpetrators are apprehended and charged.

“This particular incident is no different and the victim and her family members as well as all other concerned residents of that community can rest assure that the police are working assiduously to bring the perpetrator to justice.”

The Senior Officer is however calling on anyone who may have information leading to the suspect’s apprehension to call the Special Victims Unit at 465-2241 ext. 232, the nearest police station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS)
