By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AN elderly man is currently warded in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Joseph N France General Hospital after being chopped multiple time to the body.

Information reaching SKNVibes states that Eugene Griffin, a farmer of Newton Ground, was attacked by an unknown assailant on Friday morning (Apr. 8) while working on his farm.

Information also states that the assailant dealt Griffin several chops to the body with a cutlass, causing him to collapse and the wounded man was discovered on the farmland later that afternoon and was rushed to the hospital.

When contacted yesterday (Apr. 11), ‘B’ Division Commander Superintendent Lionel Moore said police know of the incident and investigations are being conducted. He also said that the incident did not occur in the morning but sometime in the afternoon.

Asked if anyone was held responsible for the vicious act, Moore responded in the negative.

Superintendent Moore informed that reports coming out of the hospital stated that Griffin is still warded in the ICU but he is in stable condition.
