Burglars target Admiral Enterprises

More than $20,000 worth of stuff stolen

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - STAFF of the Admiral Enterprises arrived for work this morning (Apr. 19) to find the building that houses the company was vandalized and more than $20,000 worth of equipment stolen.

Located at Kittstodart, the premises was secured at about 9:55 p.m. last evening and when Managing Director Harrington Bristol Snr arrived for work this morning, certain unusual occurrences caused him concern.

He told SKNVibes that he arrived at about 7:00 a.m. and immediately realized that a door on the side of the building was unlocked and opened and although it seemed suspicious, he thought it might have been left that way by one of his sons who might have arrived for work before he did.

He said he made checks in specific areas and having not seen either of his sons, he proceeded to check the office at which point he discovered that that door was also open. Having entered the office, Bristol said he found it ransacked.

He also indicated that after a thorough check of the premises was made, it was discovered that close to 20 items were stolen including security equipment and tools.

Filing cabinets and other cabinets as well as storage facilities were also left in a disheveled state.

The Managing Director said he estimated the cost of the stolen items to be more than $20,000.

SKNVibes understands that this is the third time the Admiral Enterprises has been the victim of thieves since it had moved to that location some four years ago. And he informed that sometime today a meeting would have been held among staff members and measures would be taken to guard against a recurrence.

This publication was informed that members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force were summoned to the scene and they had conducted preliminary investigations.
