Bath Village duo charged for shooting Kishanda Clarke

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – TWO young men from Bath Village were charged with attempted murder and shooting at with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison pending their appearance in court.

     

    The charges were laid against 20-year-old Jelani Howell and Khyle Tweed (22) for allegedly shooting at and causing multiple injuries to Kishanda Clarke, aka Kishanda Wallace, of Newtown, St. Kitts but who was at the time of the incident residing at Government Road in Charlestown, Nevis.

    It was reported that at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Sunday night (Apr. 17), Clarke was shot multiple times while walking along the Stuart Williams Drive.

    Information reaching SKNVibes stated that while he was walking a car drove by and an individual or individuals within opened fire in his direction, striking him once to the left leg and twice to the left shoulder. 

    Residents claimed to have heard about 14 shots fired.

    Clarke was transported to and warded at the Alexandra Hospital And according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Hilroy Brandy, he was discharged yesterday (Apr. 20).

    A few hours after he was shot, police execute a warrant on the home of one of the two young men which led to his arrest and that of his alleged accomplice, as well as to the impounding of a car suspected to have been used in commission of the crime.

    A police release stated that Commissioner of Police Ian Queeley commended the officers for their vigilant investigative work and expressed his appreciation to the public for information they provided in moving the investigation forward.

    “The support from the general public in assisting the police with the two recent incidents in Nevis is encouraging, and it is this type of support that will help us in the fight against crime and the fear of crime in our communities. 

    “I encourage the public to come forward with any information they may have that can help us to move the other investigations forward. Call any police station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 with the information,” the Commissioner said.
