Basseterre, St. Kitts (October 12, 2005): Cable & Wireless launched their new Xnet 512k high speed internet service, as part of their ten (10) year celebration of internet services at the Ocean Terrace Inn. Present at the launch were the Deputy Prime Minister Sam Condor, other delegates and SME customers, Kim Collins, CFBC students, Media and other invited guests.
Featured on the Cable & Wireless products is Kim Collins, he was chosen to be featured on the products because, he is speed and it is a great way to promote their product said one of Cable & Wireless executive. Cable & Wireless has reduce the price of internet service to $99 monthly from October 1st, which is also three time the speed for the same price. They also will be launching a product which would allow people to talk talk talk at an affordable price, which would be launched later this month.
Good news was voiced to those that live in remote areas; Cable & Wireless has been testing those areas to provide them with good internet service. They also mention that they have been working hard trying to make it affordable for those who have been trying to receive internet services but were unable to do so because of the price. The first Institution to benefit from the services that Cable and Wireless had to offer was the Special Education Unit. Cable & Wireless has offered to give High schools 500 vouchers, valued at EC $100,000.00. As part of their packages Cable & Wireless is also offering Dell Inspiron 2100 Laptops at a reasonable price of $2195.
A brief remark was voiced by the Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Sam Condor, who said that he was very pleased that Cable & Wireless has given students the opportunity to be involve in this new high speed technology, he also mentioned that the best way to promote the community best interest is to act, he then congratulated Cable & Wireless on a job well done.
Kim Collins then gave his brief remarks, he said that it is important to keep in contact with his family and friends when he's abroad and with the new 512k high speed he can surf the web much faster. He then thanked Cable & Wireless for having him and everyone for being part of Cable & Wireless other milestone. Ms Henry gave the vote of thanks to all who attend the launching of their new product and said that the promises that Cable & Wireless gave are not empty promises she assured all.
