CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – ALLAN BROADBELT, the man who was arrested and charged last week with housebreaking and larceny, was slapped with three more charges for similar offences.

Last week, the charges preferred against the Bath Village resident were for offences he allegedly committed in Farm Estate, Nevis between July 19 and 20, 2014.

Today (May 4) however, a police communiqué stated that three additional charges were preferred against Broadbelt.

He was charged with housebreaking and larceny which occurred in the Stoney Grove area on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. He was also charged with housebreaking and larceny, committed in Farms Estate, Nevis during the period October 4 and 10, 2015, and similar charges committed in Nugent Heights between October 10 and 24, 2015.

Broadbelt’s arrest and subsequent charges resulted from a search of his home by members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force on Thursday (Apr. 28).

The intelligence-led search operation led to the find of furniture, electronics, air conditioning units, groceries, construction supplies and tools, among other items.

Police have indicated that a number of housebreaking and larceny victims who, in the past, had reported their losses to the police, “have come forward and have identified some of the recovered items”.

Investigations into the discovery of stolen items in Broadbelt’s home are ongoing.
