BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A woman, who is being referred to as the “weave bandit”, might have successfully executed her plan of theft at Lucky’s had it not been for the fact that the act was caught on camera.

The young woman, store operators told SKNVibes, entered the establishment located at The Circus sometime yesterday (May 6) and was in a specific area where hair products were being displayed.

They explained that while there, she removed two packets of weave from the shelf and quickly stuffed them in her bag which was slung over her right shoulder. She did not leave the store immediately after but appeared to continue looking at other items.

The store’s manager, Sanjay Bachni, reportedly observed the suspicious movement of the woman. Although he was not certain about what had taken place, Bachni walked over to her and as he explained, he was looking to see if the woman’s bag was open so that he could see if there items were therein.

He however said it was zipped shut so he did not get a chance to see inside.

In order to ascertain what had happened, the manager checked the security camera footage today (May 7) and discovered that the woman had indeed stole two packets of weave valued at about $250.

Lucky’s management told SKNVibes that they had alerted the police about the incident and have turned the video footage over to them for investigative purposes.

Lucky's has always been targeted by shoplifters in the past, but SKNVibes understands that this incident is the first of its kind for the year.
