SKELEC’s 4th annual Christmas food basket – spreading Christmas cheer to customers & the less fortunate

    SKELEC, Basseterre St. Kitts, January 11th, 2016 -- SKELEC, a utility company located smack in St. Kitts, has, for the 4th time in a row successfully shared Christmas merriness with its customers and the less fortunate by donating food baskets (hampers). 2015’s Christmas was SKELEC’s largest drive ever and SKELEC donated 7 food baskets as they thought that more people who could do with extra kindness and love during the festive season. 

     

    SKELEC, whose website can be visited here, www.skelec.kn provides electricity to some 17,000 residential and commercial customers on the island of St. Kitts. As a utility company, SKELEC is delighted to have pulled off such an event – hampers were donated to customers and golden citizens across St. Kitts Island. Unfortunate children and correctional institute inmates were not forgotten; giving tummy filling warmth, SKELEC donated food to the Children’s Home and the Prison. 

    SKELEC’s main source of electricity production is by means of diesel fuel. For good measure, SKELEC also has one .5 megawatt solar farm and is currently partnering with TERANOV and involved in Geothermal exploration to replace diesel fuel. The latter is the Company’s quest to constantly evolve and be friendly to the environment. To acknowledge the service of former workers of Electricity Department, (former name of the company) SKELEC, for the first time, donated food baskets to them.

    SKELEC’s Christmas charity brought smiles to the faces of those who received the food baskets. All those who received the hampers were happy and thanked SKELEC for so graciously remembering them during this time of giving.

    Inspired by the gratitude and felicity showcased by the people who received the food baskets, The Company plans to make food basket donation their tradition and continue doing it to make a difference. After all, every little thing counts.
