VOC Live Debuts This Wednesday

    May, 17th, 2016 -- St. Kitts-based online radio station Voice of the Caribbean Radio (www.voiceofthecaribbean.net) will be launching its first live talk show “VOC Live!” this Wednesday May 18th at 10am. The show will be hosted by the station’s managing director and journalist Andre Huie and will be for one hour ending at 11am. “The show will be open to callers from around the region including St. Kitts and Nevis, giving them a chance to call in and discuss the topic of the day relating to some of the topical issues in the Caribbean,” Huie said in a press release. “The idea is to choose a topic each week that is of relevance to the region and encourage callers to call in and discuss the issue with me as the host,” he added. 

     

    The show will be aired live every Wednesday with re-broadcasts at 6pm and 9pm and on Saturday evenings at 6pm. Persons from outside St. Kitts and Nevis can call in via Whatsapp calling at 1 869 662-2200 or by searching vocradio on Skype. 

    Listeners can also interact and follow the discussion on Facebook (search Voice of the Caribbean Radio) and Twitter (@vocradio1). “We want everyone in the Caribbean and in the diaspora to be involved so once they are connected online they can be involved,” Huie said. On the debut this week, VOC Live will be discussing Caribbean integration in light of the recent immigration dispute between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. 

    “We want to discuss this issue more in details and to get persons’ view on this very pertinent issue to the Caribbean,” Huie added. “Although we want people to stick to the topic at hand, we are also open to discussing any other issue related or otherwise that they wish to discuss.” Listeners can tune in via Facebook (on Voice of the Caribbean Radio page), at www.voiceofthecaribbean.net, on Tune In and the VOC Radio mobile app. For more information, visit www.voiceofthecaribbean.net or the VOC Radio Facebook page. 

    Launched on October 7, 2016, Voice of the Caribbean Radio boasts between 69,000 and 81,000 listeners per month from various parts of the world. “We have seen a boost in listeners at the turn of the year from various countries around the world including: The Netherlands, Germany, the US, St. Maarten, French St. Martin, Anguilla, Barbados, Jamaica, Spain and many more including St. Kitts and Nevis of course,” Huie disclosed. 

    Voice of the Caribbean Radio (shortened V.O.C. Radio) is an online current affairs and entertainment radio station featuring Caribbean-centric content for the Caribbean nationals in the diaspora and across the region. It features news and current affairs programs, sports entertainment.
