Police Press Release 19-05-2016: Report of arrest, convictions and other activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 19, 2016 (RSCNPF):  Below is a report of Arrest and or Convictions from the records of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for period May 188.   

     

    ARRESTS/BAILED: 
    Arrested: Devon Flemming of Newton Ground was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence obstruction under the drug Act Committed on May 18, 2016.  
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Kenny Morton of Upper Monkey Hill was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000.00 and was ordered to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on June 6, 2016 at 09:00 hrs in the forenoon.
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Andrew Govia of Cayon was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Wounding committed on the May 16.  He was granted bailed in the sum of $5000.00 and ordered to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 23rd May 2016 at 09 oclock in the forenoon.
     
    Bailed:  Dionis Underwood of New Road Project who was formally arrested, charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving Motor Car PA 456 when she was not covered by Insurance and Failing to report a Traffic Accident committed on May 16,  was granted bail in the  sum of $10,000.00 and ordered to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on June 2, at 09:00 hrs in the forenoon. 
     
    Bailed: David Payne who was formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Unlawfully and Maliciously Wounding with Intent to do grievous bodily harm was granted bail in the sum of $15,000.00 and ordered to  appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court July 4,  at 09:00 hrs in the forenoon. Bail was granted with the following conditions (1) Curfew at the residence of Alan Henry from 21:30 hrs to 06:00 hrs (2) To keep at least 100 ft from the virtual complainant, (3) To have no personal contact with the virtual complainant neither personally nor through any agent.  To report at the Basseterre Police Station weekly.
     
    Bailed: Ian Hull of Cunningham Village, Cayon who was charged for Illegal Possession of Firearm and Illegal Possession of Ammunition was granted bail in the sum of $30,000.00 and ordered to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on July 4,  at 09:00 hrs in the forenoon. Bail was granted with following conditions (1) report to the Cayon Police Station every Saturday between 06:00 am and 6:00 pm (2) he observe a curfew from 8:30 to 5:00 pm at his residence in Cayon. 
     
    Bailed: Shaquille Francis of Pedro Street, Sandy Point who was formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Wounding was granted bail in the sum of $5000.00 and ordered to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on July 4,  in the forenoon. Bail was granted with following conditions (1) to stay at least 100 feet away from the virtual complainant (2) to have no contact with the virtual complainant via himself or any agent. 
     
    COURT CONVICTION:  
    In matters at the St. Christopher Circuit Court presided over by The Honourable Madame Justice Marlene Carter the following matters were reported: 
     
    Julian Samuel of Belle Vue who pleaded guilty to Unlawful Wounding on Feb 24, 2016 was sentenced today to three (3) years and nine (9) months at Her Majesty's Prison. Time spent on remand will be deducted from his sentence.
     
    Atniel Murray of Old Road who was convicted of House Breaking With Intent on March 03, 2016 was to two and a half years (2yrs, 6mos) hard labour at Her Majesty's Prison. Time spent on remand will be deducted from his sentence. 
     
     A Juror who is a resident of Godwin Ghaut was fined $250.00 for failing to appear at Court without a reasonable excuse.
     
    OTHER ACTIVITY: 
    Larceny from a Person: A report of Larceny from a Person which occurred on Sand Down Road is being investigated by the Police.  Investigations revealed that an unknown assailant pulled a sum of money from the complainant's hand and ran across the street.  The investigation continues.  
     
    Marijuana Plants Uprooted: A combined patrol of Police and SKNDF officers reported that they discovered and uprooted and seized sixty-one (61) marijuana plants of four (4) feet in height from an area of land in the Ogee Ghaut area.  
     
    Traffic Accidents: Two traffic accidents occurred May 18.  One in the Ponds Pasture area, the other on New Street.  
     
    Citizen Safety: Police continues to conduct Vehicular Check Points and or Stop and Searches and several searches of abandoned properties. The check points and searches were done in efforts to ensure Citizen Safety, by removing any found Illegal Firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs, and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes.
