BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO of three brothers, who were late last week charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, have secured their pre-trial liberty.

According to a police statement, Keon Battice and Glenville Assent, both of Ponds Extension, were each granted bail to the tune of $5,000.

They were jointly charged along with their brother Kylon Battice for possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition and ordered to appear before a City Magistrate at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016.

However, from all indications, it seems as though Kylon will remain in custody until the day of his court appearance.

Police had reported that on Wednesday (May 25) a search warrant was executed on a residence in the Ponds Extension area, where officers had found a 9mm Beretta Pistol and 11 rounds of matching ammunition.

As a result, Assent, Keon and Kylon were taken into custody and subsequently charged with the offences.

That seizure had taken to 11 the number of illegal firearms and over 127 rounds of assorted ammunition removed from the Federation’s streets for the year.
