Digicel Launches Bring the Beat Summer Campaign

Tishanna Dhezeeka met the fastest man alive Usain Bolt
By: Digicel, Press Release

Basseterre, St. Kitts – (June 07, 2016) – Uniting the Caribbean through music, sports and culture is the mantra behind Digicel’s Bring the Beat Summer Campaign.

Usain Bolt, the fastest man alive, teamed up with Digicel to launch its Bring the Beat Campaign in front of a robust and excited group of children from across the Digicel Caribbean territories, at the Terra Nova Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica.

Facing his toughest audience yet, children between the ages of five and ten years showered Digicel Ambassador Usain Bolt with questions they have been eager to ask for a very long time. Digicel St. Kitts and Nevis was represented by eight-year old Dhezeeka McSheene who attends the Cayon Primary School.

Dhezeeka, who was given the opportunity to question Bolt asked “how do you feel before a race, and at what age did you start to run?”

Digicel SKN Marketing Executive, Tishanna Jeffers, who was also present in Jamaica for the launch said; “Music and sports have the power to bring people and nations together – and that is exactly what our Bring the Beat Campaign is going to do. It was the utmost pleasure for Digicel to have Dhezeeka, a rising athletic star, experience the Jamaican culture. We hope what she witnessed here will inspire her to do her best in both academics and athletics.”

Digicel’s Bring the Beat campaign represents the culture of the Caribbean and the irrepressible spirit which unites and ignites its people. Through music and the celebration of extraordinary talents, the campaign will connect the world to the Caribbean and its culture and support all of the athletes who are set to represent their countries in Brazil.
