BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO young men were shot early Monday morning (Jun. 27) while at the Frigate Bay Strip and are now recovering from their injuries at the Joseph N France General Hospital.
According to reports reaching SKNVibes, at about 2:00 a.m., Lewis Powell, also known as ‘Big Smoke’, of McKnight and Timoy Henry of Shadwell were shot in the vicinity of Breeze Bar situated at The Strip in Frigate Bay.
Reports also stated that Powell was shot in his leg while Henry received a gunshot wound to his neck.
This publication learned that the two men were rushed to the hospital in a private vehicle. However, on reaching there and while exiting the vehicle, an unidentified individual emerged from another vehicle, which was allegedly following them, and attacked Powell stabbing him multiple times.
It was also learnt that Henry is a middle distance runner and he was named among the team to represent St. Kitts and Nevis at the upcoming OECS Championship in the BVI.
The police were informed and have since confirmed the occurrence.
They indicated that investigations are ongoing and are asking members of the public who may have information pertaining to this incident to call the Basseterre Police Station at 465-2241 ext. 223 or 267, the nearest police station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS).
