My words of gratitude, with pictures of my journey from beginning to end

    August 5th, 2016 -- What is a sweet victory without gratitude? what is hard work without team work? Entering the Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant was an amazing experience. The highs and lows all made it an experience like no other. Although I can count on one hand the lows it still made it memorable. Many could appreciate what they saw at face value but the extensive work that was done to ensure that the majority loved it was a challenge.

     

    Many thanks to the almighty and Creator of All things, God.
     
    My sponsors, The national Carnival Committee for the monetary and moral support. Specifically Noah mills who ensured that I was ready for this pageant thoroughly. Even with some tips on how to win!
     
    My biological parents Nathalie and A U brown. You two have been beside me through thick and thin and for that I'm grateful!
     
    To my two unofficial adopted parents Patrice belle and Lindbergh Belle, you two have helped me from since I was a little girl and now the support you showed over the weekend was more than appreciated, love you guys!
     
    To my chaperone and sister of Poise Skn, Desi Brown, you are undeniably great and a force to be reckoned with, I'm sure we all know by now we can't go two or three days maybe shorter without cursing the living day lights out of each other but we did it! Thank you for being there. My assistant chaperone Genieve Hanley, you are a Terrific, a genius and an amazing woman.
     
    Tivanna thanks for assisting with my talent concept and all of the support! Thank you!
     
    Vassany Gumbs, the male voice in my talent pre-recording piece. Thank you!
     
    My sisters and family, especially Chal Emmanuel and LaTonya Brown, Thank you! The moral support you showed was tremendous, I'm sure By now the world knows who Khyla Is, constantly sharing posts and telling everyone about me, I love you guys.
     
    Karen Henry you also gave me hope! 
     
    Akila, Tonya and Hassani, you three were always there during prep and knew exactly what was going on, thank you for sticking by me!
    My little sis LaTonya also assisted with my makeup and backstage for BOTH shows! While I did my makeup for all events and show time she touched up throughout the night and days where she would have been available. LOVE you!! 
     
    Patoenia Gilbert, your determination to help and stick around is beyond me, I love how you try your very best to make sure EVERTHING was going well. Thank you for being apart of team Khy!
     
    Lisa Nanton, always and forever would u be my hairstylist once I'm involved in pageantry and beyond , i love your attitude and skill. You keep me calm and help me to focus. 
     
    Nail tech: Juliana Jospeh, you always know I love your work and will forever support you, thanks for my 'good up' nails!
     
    Cherrise Gardner of Faché my experience with you before and during The National Carnival Queen pageant made us very good friends. You went out of your way to ensure that I was ready for me pageant with makeup because you couldn't be there. Teaching us how to apply airbrush and ensuring that we were equipped with it! I'm sure we would both agree that Desi did a great job with the body makeup. Thank you!!
     
    To Davida and Dr. Debbie Joy Huggins, I do believe when you meet great people, you should keep them close, you two have watched me through this journey and ensured I was more than equipped physically and medically! Thank you.

    Julie Charles, what a gem you are! Support support support! I can't thank you enough, my mentor through life and I'm so glad I met you!

    Interview coach: Jenson Morton, you did all that you could to ensure I was ready for this segment. I think you're expertise is simply phenomenal and I would hope to work with you again in the future.
     
    Gym Trainer: Allister James, thank you once again!
     
    Model coach: Jason Amory, you assisted with my routines and over all polishing of my walk, thank you!
     
    Thank you to Consuelo Dupal and her mom Jan Dupal for being the support and kind people to my sister and I while competing against each other. It didn't feel like competition with you all and for that we're thankful.
     
    To my two new pageant sisters that stood out, miss Antigua and Barbuda Leanda and Miss Barbados Meghan, love you guys!
    Randy Jeffers and Renee Wilkinson of the Caribbean Culture queen pageant committee and of course the others who are on this committee, what a stay you gave us all in Nevis. It was memorable!! 
     
    Many congrats to all of the girls who participated, you came out to give a real show! It was a really difficult competition to beat.
     
    Special Congratulations to the 1st Runner Up Tassia Flossiac and the second runner up Leanda Norville you two were great!
